Sanctum House has an opportunity to triple its capacity, without moving. Sanctum House is located on a healing campus several acres large, with the remaining two residential facilities available for purchase.
Sanctum House would be able to serve more than 30 Residents at a given time. The private property, comprising three individual buildings, encompasses our beautiful backyard and gazebo space. Sanctum House currently leases one of these buildings.
Transitional, apartment-style housing will help Residents practice their independence. Easing the process of reintegration can increase the chance of success for survivors, while better preparing them to live independently.
By owning this property, Sanctum House will be a more stable foundation for future human trafficking survivors. This investment would drastically improve our ability to serve Michigan and reduce our financial costs over the long-term, yielding a more sustainable program.
To join our volunteer community contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Mary Ellen King at meking1229@gmail.com. To volunteer with fundraising or events, contact Jennifer Baenziger, CMO at jenniferb@sanctumhouse.org.
To volunteer directly with Residents, a volunteer application must be completed and a training attended. Email Mary Ellen King meking1229@gmail.com to get started.
Volunteers from Burns & McDonnell Detroit and Chicago
Generosity in the form of useful goods and services help Sanctum House, but also enable our Residents to exercise their independence, and strengthen their relationships with community members. Gift Cards are particularly useful, as they can provide survivors the opportunity to exercise their independence.
